HELLO THERE GUYS! I’M BACK AGAIN WITH MORE MADNESS! HAHA

Image

This time I’ll be talking about what I LOVELOVELOVE about the Internet!

The internet is a never ending source of madness. And I must say I quite like it that way. We need more madness in this oh so dull world!

The internet has contributed a lot to mankind in terms of entertainment.

tumblr_milsko2tWK1s1i241o1_250

The Internet has had a profound impact on entertainment, particularly since individuals have been able to gain access to it on the computers within their own homes, and more recently on portable devices such as mobile phones and iPods. It has provided entertainment creators with another avenue to explore, not just in still image and text but interactively with sound, motion and the live updating of content.

With Internet there is YOUTUBE and with YOUTUBE there are YOUTUBERS! And thanks to the Internet you are able to fangirl over your favourite artist. It brings a whole new level of meaning to “So close yet so far away”. With the internet they are all just a click away!

As you can see I love gifs! That’s one of my favourite part of browsing in the internet! The Internet is just a never ending source of entertainment! It also makes entertainment more accessible! With internet almost everything is on the go. We can access videos and other forms of entertainment from our smartphones, androids, or even tablets. Another amazing thing about the internet is the availability of music online. Individuals no longer have to travel to their local music store or department store to purchase the latest CD that happens to have caught their interest. The Internet, with the help of MP3 technology, has allowed users to both distribute and gather music digitally from the comfort of their own home.

In short, the Internet have made entertainment so accessible and efficient! It’s literally at the palm of our hands!

TROJAN

Image Image

NO! Not the condom or the warrior! I’m talking about the computing trojan horse!

ImageImage

Yeap….OK!

Image

What exactly is a Trojan Horse (computing)?

A destructive program that masquerades as a benign application. Unlike viruses, Trojan horses do not replicate themselves but they can be just as destructive. One of the most insidious types of Trojan horse is a program that claims to rid your computer of viruses but instead introduces viruses onto your computer.

 Image

The term comes from the a Greek story of the Trojan War, in which the Greeks give a giant wooden horse to their foes, the Trojans, ostensibly as a peace offering. But after the Trojans drag the horse inside their city walls, Greek soldiers sneak out of the horse’s hollow belly and open the city gates, allowing their compatriots to pour in and capture Troy.

Image

Trojan horses are broken down in classification based on how they breach systems and the damage they cause. The seven main types of Trojan horses are:

Some Trojans are designed to be more annoying than malicious (like changing your desktop, adding silly active desktop icons) or they can cause serious damage by deleting files and destroying information on your system. Trojans are also known to create a backdoor on your computer that gives malicious users access to your system, possibly allowing confidential or personal information to be compromised. Unlike viruses and worms, Trojans do not reproduce by infecting other files nor do they self-replicate.

That will be all! See you on the next post!

A.I. ? AYE

AI Artificial Intelligence. In other words, JARVIS.

Image

Yeap! The OH so amazing ‘butler’ of the genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist we all know as Tony Stark or Iron man.

 Image

In iron man universe (the movie one), Jarvis is Tony Stark’s personal AI assistant, the invention behind his lab, his life and even his suit. And the cool thing is, it’s entirely voice controlled. Sentences, even complete conversations, are carried out by Stark with Jarvis, and the AI doesn’t miss a beat. To see a system as comprehensive as that is impressive, but we’re not quite there just yet.

Image

What we have as of now that is somewhat similar to jarvis is SIRI and well kinect. HAHA. I know, I know, It’s kinda sad.

 Image

But hey! Technology is always advancing, and as we speak new ideas are technology are being built.

During the next decade we’re going to see smarts put into everything! Smart homes, smart cars, smart health, smart robots, smart science, smart crowds and smart computer-human interactions. *WELL DOESN’T THAT SOUND FAMILIAR**WINK WINK*

 Image

Lets just hope that when the day comes where we have such advance technology we don’t make a fools of ourselves trying to use and control such vast and intelligent technologies. Let’s hope we’ll look more like this..

  Image

And less like this…

 Image

And lets hope we don’t end up like Project Alice from Resident Evil… *SHIVERS*

POLITICS AND THE INTERNET

It’s surprising how well the internet goes together with politics.

internet_campaign1

In general internet on politics has enabled people to connect with others and thus result to increase the influence of extreme views in the political debate. It has also contributed to the exposure of a diverse range of views of most internet users. It plays a large role in governance, campaigns and activism. What I am trying to say is, social and digital media are changing politics.

Social Media also offers the rare example of a marketing strategy on which politics isn’t twenty years behind. Candidates and elected officials have been quick to adopt and leverage social media to engage and educate voters. For example, Barack Obama had dozens of social network profiles, for example : Facebook and BlackPlanet. And, President Barack Obama’s 2008 campaign and 2012 campaigns showed, an online army can be a powerful source of funds.

However, not everyone is Barack Obama. He was the once-in-a-generation-type candidate who had the type of celebrity appeal that made people excited to actually be his friend and network online with him.

I MEAN LOOK AT HIM! AIN HE PRECIOUS!

JUST KIDDING!

Politicians uses social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube , and Flick. I like to call these networks the Big Four. They’re the fastest growing and farthest reaching of social networks; also, they represent four distinct ways of publishing to and connecting with voters.

  • Facebook is comprehensive and allows you to post pictures, add videos, send detailed mass messages, publicly interact on Walls, and more.
  • Twitter excels in short message bursts, event updates, blog post pushes, and breaking news. It allows a campaign to instantly send a succinct message to 1000’s of followers and also lets the campaign interact with other people in a one-on-one manner.
  • YouTube is purely a video medium. However, its reach cannot be underestimated. The service’s search engine is second in use only to Google! This staggering number of searches makes it essential to own your candidate’s name for search on this platform.
  • Flick should be used to publish campaign photos. With more than 4 billion images and over 30 million monthly visitors, it’s an important place to be and exposes your campaign to an important network.

As you can see, each network is totally unique and allows you to connect with a huge audience. Voters would expect every campaign to be on these media. These media helps connect the politicians to their voters in a more personal level. This helps greatly when it comes to the election day.

YEAP! Citizen journalism!

 Image

I know, I know. It’s not unicorns and cotton candies. So, what is citizen journalism? Put very simply, citizen journalism is when private individuals do essentially what professional reporters do – report information.

Image

BUT!!  Journalism is not a mere reflection of a situation or a transmission of information, it requires a level of analysis and expertise that is impossible to encapsulate in 140 characters of a Tweet or a Facebook status update.

What I am trying to say is there is still a difference between the ‘news’ which appears on your social media and networks feed every day, and the news being reported by major organisations around the world, and that boils down to the value added by professional journalism.

Image

Whereas, citizen journalism is sensationalist journalism on steroids. Citizen journalism is doing more or less the exact same thing that traditional journalism has always done, except not as reliably or sustainably, it also misleads people.

Image

Image

Image

Nowwwww. There have been many debates and questions to whether citizen journalism will replace the traditional journalism we’re used to. How true is that??

The lines between journalism and citizen journalism may be blurring, but there are still defining factors which provide clarity to the distinction between professionals and citizens. But it does not mean that journalism, the profession of gathering, analysing and explaining information, will not continue or be entirely replaced by citizen journalism.

Image

In other words, the rise of citizen journalism does not symbolise the death of traditional journalism. What you all can expect to happen is citizen journalism and traditional journalism simply work alongside one another.

A PEEK INTO THE FUTURE

Sooo…That was your little peek into the future!

Jimbo_Peeking  tumblr_m7aamqKBV81rskeexo1_250

There have been many new inventions. Such as smart glasses such as google glasses and also smart glasses that may help the blind see. We also have smart contact lens, smart suitcases. Basically everything might be turned into something smart.

Google-Glass-and-Emerging-Optical-Technology  The-hop

As computational intelligence techniques keep on improving, becoming more accurate and faster. Humans doing tedious automated tasks have already become replaced. with this being said I see no reason why this trend will not continue.

japanesetech

But with all this intelligent technologies doing work for us what are humans going to do? Will we humans be useless? since we have these new technologies to help us do almost all our work. SO is this a good thing or a bad thing? well, only time can tell I guess.
